Thanks, Russel!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-about-the-java-example\">About the Java Example<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This program was written by Russell Brown and is being released under the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE Version 3 in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/eodhd.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EOD Historical Data<\/a>.\u00a0 Its intended function is to utilise the services provided through the website https:\/\/eodhistoricaldata.com by which data for each stock symbol on a given exchange will be downloaded through an API token, saves the data to disk, organizes the data, and read through the classified data such that it will select the top 5 performing symbols for a given date looking back 10 days.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The code offered is not a program as per\nsay.&nbsp; It mainly serves to provide a set\nof routines and algorithms to perform a specific task.&nbsp; This code for this program can be studied and\nintegrated into any other program at will.&nbsp;\nIt should be noted that there are pre-requisites and requirements to\nthis program.&nbsp; Mainly the Java Runtime\nand compiler, the NetBeans development studio, and the Gson \/JSON\nlibraries.&nbsp; It is quite possible that\nthere are oversights and unintended omissions within the code that will affect\nthe way it runs and is subject to error which in turn will be also unintended.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can download the code here <a href=\"https:\/\/eodhistoricaldata.com\/download\/EODHistoricalDataDownloader.java\">EODHistoricalDataDownloader.java<\/a> or on our documentation page with other <a href=\"https:\/\/eodhd.com\/financial-apis\/java-stock-api-example\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Java examples<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-some-words-about-author\">Some Words About Author<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"304\" height=\"382\" src=\"https:\/\/eodhistoricaldata.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/russel_brown.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-316\" style=\"width:76px;height:96px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eodhd.com\/financial-apis-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/russel_brown.png 304w, https:\/\/eodhd.com\/financial-apis-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/russel_brown-239x300.png 239w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 304px) 100vw, 304px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p> Russell Brown currently resides in Markham Ontario of Canada.&nbsp; He has a college degree in computer programming and has worked with a wide variety of programming languages including C++, C#, SQL, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery.&nbsp; Throughout his career, he has worked at various well-known companies including IBM and Apple in a production capacity.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is a strong believer in a tactical allocation approach to investing by which one own&#8217;s stocks and bonds on a long-term basis and the weighting is allocated on a seasonal basis according to the current economic climate, and as the assets are being held periodic contributions are made. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has taken the Canadian Securities Course\nwith the intention of becoming a financial advisor though had not pursued this\npath.&nbsp; He is currently taking courses in\nbusiness administration at the University of the People.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of our subscribers, Russel Brown, wrote the Java example and kindly offered it to those our subscribers who use the JAVA for stock data API.
