Today we are happy to announce that we have added ‘Outstanding shares’, the new data point for our Fundamentals API. What are ‘Outstanding shares’? They are part of all issued shares by the company. All issued shares are divided to treasury shares, which are held by the corporation and have no any rights, and outstanding shares are all the shares of a corporation that have been purchased by investors and are held by them. The number of outstanding shares is not static and it may fluctuate every year or even quarterly. That’s why we have added this new data point to our Fundamentals API. We provide outstanding shares for US companies at the moment and from the 2005 year. And we have two data feeds: annual and quarterly. All values are in ‘Millions of Shares’. Here is an example of JSON format for our Fundamentals API: More information you can get on our documentation page for Fundamental Data: Stocks, ETFs, Mutual Funds.
